As we celebrate Easter, I am feeling grateful for meeting new families, exciting upcoming opportunities, and an exciting spring season with LOTS of fun sessions!
This year's spring mini sessions were super fun not only for the kiddos but for me as a photographer! I got to meet new moms, dads, children, grandmas and grandpas, as they all watched their wee-ones giggle, love on the bunnies, and say "cheese" for the camera. The children were dressed in their Easter outfits, bunny ears, sparkly bows, suspenders, and ties.
Parents and children were welcomed with delicious cookies, cinnamon rolls, and blueberry/orange bread. Before heading into our session, moms and dads could create a bubbly mimosa with fresh squeezed orange juice and fruits such as raspberries, blueberries, pineapple, and strawberries.
The Easter mini sessions were 20 minutes long and consisted of many setups. I incorporated a pale green backdrop with a handmade Easter egg garland. The first set up was a distressed white wagon with antique wheels. The children were able to sit in the wagon for a few minutes before setting a sweet bunny next to them. Extra precautions were taken to protect each child from an accidental scratch or scare (even though the bunnies were sweet, calm, loving, and would pose for each snap of the camera).
The next setup was two Easter wood baskets with a burlap bow. The bunny was placed in the basket and set next to the child while sitting. It was easy to transition into the other setups from here. We then placed those same Easter baskets on a brown wooden chair while the child sat next to them on an identical chair. From that set up, the baskets and bunnies were set on small gray crates. The children were able to softly love on the bunnies while sitting next to them.
The last setup allowed the children to be hands on with the bunnies. We started with a fluffy white blanket placed on the child's lap and slowly transitioned to the bunny placed between the legs or on the lap. This was very exciting for the kiddos. How neat to have a sweet and lovable bunny right in their lap!
At the end of each session, children were given an Easter surprise. In each Easter gift bag was a soft bunny stuffed animal, a container of Play-Doh and a bag of Fruit Snacks. I wanted every aspect of each session to be enjoyable and memorable for both the adult AND child.
I am ecstatic at how lovely each photo turned out to be. Each portrait captured the child's beautiful soul.
